Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
