Brassic Ends Its Run with Influenced by Tarantino Finale
Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are bringing the curtain down on their humorous show about a tight-knit bunch of likable chancers running riot in a countryside town in Lancashire. One could anticipate the finale to be a nostalgic highlight reel of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. But, the vibes are distinctly darker as the character Vinnie, played by Gilgun and the gang hole up in a pub with criminal figure Davey MacDonagh for a climactic 50th episode apparently inspired by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

An especially moving installment intertwines the tales of a lame shire horse and a vanished calf into a more serious storyline focusing on the character Tristan, whose behaviour prompts a fraternal intervention.

The journey has been lengthy. Yet the penultimate episode of this at first slow-moving but eventually gripping series about phone hacking sees David Tennant’s Nick discovering details about the News of the World’s conduct that the rest of the media simply can’t ignore. The situation improves for Dave, who has a surprising new ally.

Jazz hands at the ready: it’s time to stage Peter Pansy – The Rusical! That means the pressure is on for the drag performers to perform vocally, dance, and act and ultimately slay as they get ready for the show.
