Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from that period of that year.

Success also indicates he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an better service.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
