Former BBC Consultants Participate in Parliamentary Questioning In the Wake of Claims of Prejudice in Disclosed Document

Previous British Broadcasting Corporation consultants testifying before Members of Parliament

We open with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who leads the panel.

She initiates by offering context to the leaked document prepared by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.

"I don't want the BBC slanting toward one side or the other, I just want it neutral, unbiased and just," he declares.

Upon being questioned if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, Prescott replies: "Absolutely not. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the BBC does is top-tier - including informative and entertainment shows."

However, he continues: "There remains significant effort that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

A further former external BBC adviser interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it has a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" on evolving and intricate topics.

"Did the BBC ready to engage in a genuine conversation and exchange and take action?" she reflects. "In my view, yes they were."
