"We will have a fantastic experience nonetheless," added another sibling. "We must adopt that mindset."

"Obviously it is a let-down we don't have more to play for, but we have made a substantial financial commitment already."

"We'll enjoy having Christmas and New Year overseas. This will be our first experience away from home during the festive period."

An educator, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her seasonal break.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I can play golf to rely on," she added.
