Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the team in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
He was omitted from a European match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the player.

The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
He also implied that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I get that there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the situation. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, getting results and starting to win games.”
