Armed assailants have killed a teacher and abducted at least 25 students in an assault against a female high school in the northwestern part of Nigeria, authorities have confirmed.
The criminal group stormed the public educational institution for female students in the Maga locality within Kebbi State at around 4 AM local time on Monday, authorities reported.
The assailants "exchanged fire with security forces on duty in a gun duel" before breaching the school's outer barrier and abducting the learners from their living quarters, an official report indicated.
