This latest animated series, the most recent animated series by the beloved role-playing group, unveiled an exciting introductory sequence. It features the beloved cast of misfits, misfits, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while also hinting at several agonizing backstories for characters including Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, the character Fjord.

All in all, the opening appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that something was missing in the music selection.

The intro uses "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional composition composed by producer and singer the talented musician. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of that title, the second one put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great sentimental option, and I suspect that devotees of the second campaign will appreciate its presence.

But for me, The series' intro fails to capture the excitement and energy that was part of the show's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by musician Jason Charles Miller, was an instant classic in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when co-founder Sam Riegel wrote words to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.

Including singing from one actress, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the track was memorable and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my device. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an episode of fantasy hijinks.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the same chords in my opinion. It's an impressive composition, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its tone is a little off.

Of course, the creators has already said that the animated show will have a few changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as one of them.

The Mighty Nein will be released on the streaming service from Nov. 19. For those eager until then, or wish to prepare to learn about the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the original episodes are accessible on the audio platform and YouTube.
