It is a positive article in a magazine that the president has consistently praised – with one exception. The front-page image, Trump declared, ""could be the worst ever".

Time magazine's tribute to Donald Trump's part in mediating a ceasefire in Gaza, featured on its November 10 cover, was presented alongside a photograph of the president captured from underneath and with the sun behind his head.

The result, he says, is "super bad".

"Time wrote a fairly positive story about me, but the image may be the most awful ever", he shared on Truth Social.

“They removed my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that resembled a suspended coronet, but an very tiny one. Really weird! I always disliked taking pictures from below viewpoints, but this is a terrible picture, and should be criticized. What are they doing, and why?”

Trump has made no secret of his desire to appear on the cover of Time and achieved this four times last year. The preoccupation has made it as far as his golf courses – previously, the editors demanded to remove fake issues exhibited in some of his properties.

The most recent cover image was taken by a photographer for a news agency at the presidential residence on October 5.

Its angle did no favours for Trump’s chin and neck – a chance that the governor of California Newsom took advantage of, with the governor's office tweeting a version with the problematic part pixelated.

At the same time, a defence of the president’s appearance has been offered by an unexpected source: the spokesperson at the Russian foreign ministry intervened to condemn the "revealing" image choice.

It's remarkable: a photograph exposes those who selected it than about the person in it. Only disturbed individuals, people obsessed with malice and hatred –maybe even degenerates – could have chosen such a photo", the official posted on the messaging platform.

In light of the positive pictures of President Biden that that magazine displayed on the cover, notwithstanding his health issues, the story is simply self-incriminating for Time", she said.

The explanation for his queries – what were Time’s editors doing, and why? – might involve artistically representing a sense of power stated by a picture editor, a media professional.

The photograph technically is well-executed," she notes. "They selected this photo because they wanted Trump to look impressive. Gazing upward evokes a feeling of their importance and Trump’s face actually looks contemplative and almost somewhat divine. It's uncommon you see pictures of him in such a serene moment – the image has a softness to it."

Trump’s hair seems to vanish because the sunlight behind him has bleached that section of the image, producing a glowing aura, she says. Even though the article's title marries well with Trump’s expression in the image, "one cannot constantly gratify the person photographed."

Nobody enjoys being captured from low angles, and although all of the artistic aspects of the image are very strong, the aesthetics are not flattering."

The news outlet reached out to the magazine for a statement.
