Area Police
Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations show the substance was likely human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for information.
An important official stated the attack made him without words and had to be addressed quickly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
